A Typical Wedding Timeline

[/tatsu_title_icon][tatsu_text max_width= “” wrap_alignment= “center” animate= “” animation_type= “fadeIn”]

So you’re thinking of booking us for your wedding (great!) but are wondering what would it be like having us there. Well our main priority is to capture the images that you’ve dreamed of for many years but in doing so we must keep in mind that it is ‘YOUR WEDDING‘ and not a fashion photo shoot for Vogue. With that in mind there are certain things that we must do to ensure we get the best possible photos for you and your fiancé.

This is a typical timeline for one of our weddings, of course there will be some changes as every wedding is different but the essence remains the same though the characters and locations change.

Travel to first location, arriving 1hr early for equipment transport/set-up.

Coverage Starts.

  • Bride/Groom Prep 30 minutes – 1 hour.
  • Travel to next location, allow extra time (15 minutes) for equipment transport/set-up.
  • Bride/Groom Prep 30 minutes – 1 hour (dependent on wanting both preps captured but not wanting a second photographer).
  • Travel to Ceremony, allow extra time for equipment transport/set-up.
  • Capture Ceremony – 1 hour. Church – 30 minutes Civil.
  • Family pictures 30 minutes.
  • Travel to creative couple shots. (if no nice locations at venue)
  • Couples Creatives 1 hour.
  • Travel to Reception Venue (if required) allow extra time for equipment transport/set-up.
  • Drinks Hour – capture candids 30 minutes – capture Wedding Breakfast layout & details 30 minutes.
  • Guests seated – newlyweds announcement.
  • Speeches – 30/45 minutes.
  • Dinner – 1 hour.
  • Cake Cut – 15 minutes.
  • First Dance – 30 minutes.
  • Bouquet Toss – 30 minutes.

Coverage Ends.

Of course your wedding may run in a slightly or even a completely different order but the time for each section is the minimum we need to be able to travel from one location or venue to the next plus get the equipment ready and move around within the venues capturing your wedding. While doing all this you will hardly know we are there. The exception being when we do the creative couple shoot. All the above is a necessary part of any and all weddings, any other photographer that tells you different won’t be giving you images you want because he won’t have the time to capture them. Building this timeline in to your order of the day will ensure that your photographer (hopefully me) whom ever you choose will be grateful for the consideration and forethought and will enjoy being at your wedding all the more. That in itself will get you some very fine photos indeed!.
